Romeo Jordan Ibanez IV
Founder & Managing Architect
Romeo builds systems that help people and ideas grow.
He played a key role in shaping Icelandic+, guiding its evolution as co-founder from a boutique concept into a globally recognized, award-winning brand in premium pet nutrition. During his time with the company, he helped establish Iceland’s first USDA-approved facility for processed lamb products: a milestone that opened new trade routes between Iceland and North America and became the backbone of an eight-figure export network now stretching from the USA to Australia.
Inside the company, Romeo didn’t just manage operations — he transformed them. From production and procurement to international compliance, he built structure where there was friction and calm where there was complexity by emphasizing partnership, mutual understanding, and collaboration. His work turned a fast-growing startup into a disciplined, scalable enterprise that now stands as a model for sustainable expansion in the natural pet industry.
Romeo brings the same thoughtful balance to every project: part strategist, part builder, always grounded in partnership. His leadership blends intuition with analysis — understanding people as deeply as he understands systems. Whether negotiating contracts, interfacing with global regulators, guiding teams through transition, or designing frameworks for growth, his focus is on creating clarity that lasts. His impact extended to publicly traded companies, where he drove global expansion efforts and introduced storied US brands into markets across North America, Asia, and Latin America, including Canada, China, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea.
His academic background mirrors that precision and curiosity: his MBA from Quinnipiac University with a 4.0 GPA builds on a foundation in History and Asian Studies from Bowdoin College. That combination gives him both global perspective and local empathy — the rare ability to see both the forest and the roots with multicultural nuance. Conversant in Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish, Romeo moves easily between cultures and industries, bridging ideas across borders. Whether in a boardroom, a factory, or a town hall, his presence has a consistent effect — people leave the conversation seeing possibility where before they saw constraint.
Today, Romeo extends his work beyond the private sector as a Commissioner for Economic Development for the Town of Hamden, Connecticut. His civic role reflects the same principle that guided his business career: real progress comes from collaboration. He works to connect local entrepreneurs, small businesses, and public resources — helping communities grow through partnership, not competition. He spearheads the town-gown relationship between Hamden and Quinnipiac University, aligning academic outcomes with economic empowerment and retaining world-class talent in the community.
Beyond his advisory and civic work, Romeo also mentors emerging leaders through Bowdoin College’s Latinx Alumni-Student Alliance, helping students connect purpose to professional growth. He also volunteers with Quinnipiac University, supporting aspiring entrepreneurs across multiple disciplines.
Why GreenPaw
Growth doesn’t happen by force: it happens organically, with the right structure and care. That idea inspired the name GreenPaw.
It reflects how we approach our work: helping businesses grow stronger, healthier, and more naturally over time. The “paw” is a nod to our founder’s roots as both a Bowdoin Polar Bear and a Quinnipiac Bobcat: two mascots, one shared belief that real progress is living, adaptive, and grounded in balance.
GreenPaw is more than a name. It’s a reminder that when systems are healthy, growth takes care of itself.
